Retelling

We have been learning about Retelling stories by remembering events that happened in the beginning, middle and end of different stories. 

During the past week, we read a story called The Mitten by Jan Brett. It is a folktale about a boy named Nikki who loses his snow-white mitten. He can't find it in the snow, but the forest animals do. 

We created a Story Map to help us retell The Mitten from beginning to end. 

We also used props and puppets to act out the story. 

The Giving Tree

 

We have been busy decorating our own Giving Tree in preparation for our gift exchange in the next couple of weeks!!!

We had so much fun opening our gifts!!!  We are thankful to have such wonderful friends in our class!!!
