Earth Week

We are learning about recycling and sorting paper,
plastic, metal and glass.

We are making Grass Crowns and Ocean Crowns

We wanted to know how much garbage we bring in our lunches and learned about the importance of using reusable containers.

Results before our Boomerang Lunch

Results after our Boomerang Lunch.

We reduced the amount of garbage in our lunches and used more reusable containers.  WAY TO GO!!!

We enjoyed working together to bake earth cupcakes.  We used green and blue food colouring to dye the batter

ECO Clean Sweep

We walked with our Grade 8 Book Buddies around our neighbourhood and picked up litter and recyclable materials

For this science experiment, we explored what polluted water looks like and how difficult it is to clean up.  Even after we used different tongs and sieves to pick up the solid garbage, we were not able to clean up the oil spill.  Many marine animals and fish die each year because of oil spills and water pollution.
